Dr. David Bennett

Dr. David Bennett was born and raised in Mentor Ohio, an East Cleveland suburb. He did his undergraduate studies at Bowling Green State University where he graduated with honors. David moved to Clintonville to live and to study optometry and he graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2004. He completed his ocular disease residency at the Columbus and Chillicothe VA Medical Centers and has been a staff optometrist at the Columbus VA Outpatient Clinic for 10+ years. There he is an Assistant Professor of Optometry for both The Ohio State Univeristy and The New England Colleges of Optometry where he works to train students and residents on disease management within the profession.

David enjoys the medical aspect of optometry like diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, and glaucoma, which allows him to team with patients to both manage and educate them on how they can keep their vision system healthy. He enjoys explaining the complex nature of eye disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in an easily understood manner. Dr. Bennett lives in Grove City with his wife and Eyes On High partner Dr. Melissa Bennett, their three sons Coen, Carmine, Cash and their energetic dog, Milo. David tries to find time to enjoy home-brewing Belgian Style Ales, skiing, golf, and finding a quiet moment to rest when his boys allows him too!

Dr. Karen Kloman

Dr. Karen Kloman grew up in Grove City, Ohio, and has resided in Clintonville since 2006. She graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and minor in Psychology.  Following completion of her undergraduate degree, she took a year to do an AmeriCorps program which focused on healthcare programs, screening, and access in the Southeastern Ohio Appalachia region.  Dr. Kloman graduated from The Ohio State College of Optomery in 2006, and completed her ocular disease residency at the Columbus and Chillicothe VA Medical Centers in 2007.  She has worked in a variety of settings after finishing her residency, including the Columbus VA, clinical instruction at The OSU College of Optometry, private optometry practices, ophthalmologist group practice, and nursing/rehab facilities.  In 2017 she became a clinical professor of optometry for The OSU College of Optometry where she works to train fourth year students on primary care optometry during their rotation at Eyes on High. 

Karen enjoys being active whenever possible. She loves traveling, reading, disc golf, and doing yard work. You may see her on the Olentangy Bike Trail; jogging, walking her dog, or on her bike. She has traveled on medical mission trips to Central America, South America, and Africa; with plans to do more in the future.

Dr. Melissa Bennett

Dr. Melissa Bennett received her Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio University in 2004 and her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2008. She then completed her residency in Ocular Disease at the Columbus and Chillicothe VA Clinics in 2009.  She worked for both the Columbus and Chillicothe VAs after her residency prior to the opening of Eyes on High.  She now concentrates on patient care at Eyes on High, and enjoys complex contact lens fiting as well as ocular disease care. She has been a Clinical Professor of Optometry at Ohio State for the past 10 years and thoroughly enjoys teaching the students and residents that rotate through the practice. Dr. Bennett is enjoys he roll in caring for the wonderful people of Clintonville.

Dr. Bennett is a sports enthusiast, loving everything Bobcat and Buckeye, but also has a special place in her heart for Notre Dame football stemming from yearly family trips to South Bend. Outside of the exam room, Dr. Bennett enjoys spending time with her husband, David, their three sons Coen, Carmine, Cash and their very energetic boxer, Milo. She enjoys long distance running, volleyball, golf, snowboarding, and naps when her children and husband allow one.

Scheduling Coordinator: John Gill

Eyes on High is proud to have John Gill as the scheduling coordinator and will be your primary point of contact when calling the practice.  John has been an integral part of the success of Eyes on High since our opening in 2014.  John comes to us from the hills of Appalachia in southern Ohio where he called Rio Grande, Ohio home for 22 years. He graduated from the University of Rio Grande in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration. Considering Clintonville a home away from home, John appreciates the family atmosphere the community offers to friends and strangers alike. Feel free to stop by and ask John any questions you might have, you will not find many who are more approachable.

Alannah joined the Eyes on High team in February of 2022.  Ever since she started in the optical industry in 2013, she has loved helping all types of individuals find glasses that they will love.  She believes that creating a personable experience is of the utmost importance when working with them to find glasses that match their personality.  She is a firm believer that getting new glasses does not need to be daunting, rather it should be fun and a great way to express one's self.  She also has a background in retail which helps her seek genuine connections with every patient she encounters as she truly enjoys working and helping patients.  That can be seen first-hand with her positive and cheery personality that is on display daily.  Alannah enjoys her time off by being the best influence possible for her niece and nephews who mean everything to her.  She is very excited to be working alongside the Eyes on High team and looks forward to meeting all the new faces!
